Search Spotted Content

To search for Spotted content, use the Search tool located under the dashboard in the upper right of the Spotted page. Type your keywords into the Search field. To narrow your search, click the arrow on the drop-down menu and select a category. When you’re finished, click Go.

What are Areas (Communities)?

The Spotted Areas (Communities) divide your area into local communities. Click Areas (Communities) in the horizontal navigation bar to see a list of your local communities. Then click on a community to view photos, galleries, and events from that community.

Spotted Before and After

The “Before and After” section shows before and after photos that are sponsored by local businesses. Click Before & After to view these photos and galleries.

Spotted Categories

Categories are used to group Spotted content according to its subject matter. They are set up by the site administrator. Some examples of categories:

  • Clubs
  • Contests
  • Sports
  • Arts

When you create a new gallery, you can use the Create Gallery dialog box to place it inside any category or subcategory that is currently listed on Spotted. See Section 12.1 on page 5 for more information about creating a gallery.

Comments

Posting comments is a great way to give people feedback on their photos. To post a comment, just click on the thumbnail of the photo you want to post a comment to. Then, type your comment into the Post A Comment box. Click Post Comment when you’re finished.

Note: You must sign in to post comments.

Editor's Picks

Editors’ Picks are new or noteworthy galleries and photos that the Spotted editors have selected. To view the Editors’ Picks, click on the Spotted Home tab. Then, click on Editors Picks in the horizontal navigation bar. This will display the Editors’ Picks galleries. To view the Editors’ Picks photos, point to Editors Picks and click on Photos from the submenu that appears.

Tags

Tags are keywords or terms associated with or assigned to a gallery, picture, or video. You can think of them as labels that help describe your content so that others can more easily search for it.

For example, if you have a video of your dog, Benji, playing Frisbee, you could tag it “Benji dog terrier Frisbee.”
