Parks Mangum of Walterboro, his son Joey and Jim Jenkins of Beaufort harvested this trophy alligator during the opening weekend of the state's alligator hunting season. They harvested a 10-foot, 2-inch male and a 9-foot, 8-inch female hunting in the Combahee River. They were hunting with a crossbow with Gator Getter arrows and heads and used gator snares once they had the alligators to the surface. PhotoJoey Mangum
